Blog or not to blog

9 Nov 2025

Here we go again. It's been a few years since my last effort to blog. I've dropped the ball on my personal journaling as well. I'm hoping this will motivate me to write again. So here goes.

My Autumn battle with Mother Nature has begun. The weather the past few weeks has been sensational and the tree colors brilliant.  That's the calm before the storm. A cold front hit us last night with strong winds. I woke up this morning with my yard covered in leaves. I do a combination of blowing and mulching. I am surround by a forest and my leaf effort will last until after Xmas.

Falling leaves are constant work at the house and a royal pain on the golf course. They do their best to keep the fairways clean, but it's non-stop. It's not unusual to loose at least three golf balls in a round, hidden under piles of leaves. It's very frustrating hitting a great tee shot and then not being able to find it.

I played plenty of golf this summer. I found myself in three different leagues. Just a bunch of old retirees looking to get out of the house. These old buzzards have some funny stories to tell.

I also got talked into joining a bowling league this winter. It's a good time. The problem is the drive home in the dark. Plenty of critters and deer up in these hills. I've had a few close calls already since we moved here.

I'm keeping this first post short. I'm still learning this new version of the Blog site.

  2. Every year, I wonder how there can be so many dang leaves on all the trees in my yard - haha. They sure are pretty, though. Your grandkids will definitely be excited to put your skills to the test at the bowling alley the next time we get together!
