West Day 2
I'm on the road for day 2 bright and early. I didn't sleep very well. I get messed up with hotels. Strange bed, where's the bathroom? I also noticed the street noise. I'm not used to that. Semi trucks and motorcycles buzzing down the road. Hamsters in the heater didn't help much either.
The weather is fair. It's not raining today. Just a few miles down the road I'm noticing lots of power line utility trucks heading east. Convoys of trucks, hundreds of them. They're prepping for some major issues with the ice storm. I hate leaving Stacy alone at home. We are going to video chat tomorrow evening and review how to run our generator.
I also hate Dallas traffic. Way too many people there. I went from a pleasant countryside interstate highway to five lanes of Mario Karts Jamboree. Cars zigging left, zagging right. Of course there are accidents. Let's not even get started on the road construction that never ends.
Second half of the day was much better. Wide open Texas plains. Whoever invented cruise control on cars deserves a donut. With sprinkles!! You can't push a pedal for eight hours without some pain.
By the end of the day, I'm smelling oil. I'm staying the night in Midland. If you have watched the show 'Landman'. you know. I'm searching for the Patch diner and looking for Billy Bob. We can swap stories of our problems over a few beers.
I'm glued to the weather channel. I think if I can make it to New Mexico by mid-day I might be in the clear. Wish me luck.

Woohoo! You’ll make it but did you check your oil?? Still looking forward to food photos😂. That makes me not so anonymous!!
